2003 - PHRED II
PHRED and PHRED II at the PNW Regional
In Stack Attack, robots needed to ascend a ramp to stack plastic containers on a platform, and scored extra for being on the platform at the end of the match. Our Stack Attack robot was named PHRED II, for being the second robot that we, the PHRED team, had built. Since our first creation was called LEETbot, there was never a robot named PHRED I.
The manipulator wouldn't conform to current game rules about stabbing things, but nobody got seriously (or at least, memorably) hurt. This photo shows how we were already developing our images of Caution: Robot Zone and Partnerships Under Construction in our second year.
