Speedybot poses for a photoshoot before crate time
We learned from our experiences with Ladderbot that we would have to design a robot that did one function, right, all the time if we wanted to win. The idea of making a "perfect" bot that can accomplish every task in the game is always appealing, but we realized that with the resources available it would be critical for our team to focus on quality rather than quantity of functions if we wanted to succeed.
After analyzing the game in the first two days of build, we selected a primary function of being small, maneuverable, and speedy; and a secondary goal of being able to "poke" a ball down from the overpass.
